OK, I can't reattach my transmission b/c the bellhousing is hitting my new headers that i installed while i had my engine out of my car. I figure i have two options: take off one header and attach tranny and reinstall header OR pull the engine back out and attach tranny with the engine out of the car and reinstall everything as a single piece. I would rather pull the engine back out b/c it looks like a ****** to take that header loose in the car. Please let me know if its even possoble to install the engine and tranny together like i'm planning.

thanks,
Jake

i believe that it would be easier to take out the header and put the tranny in and then put the header back on. i belive that the only LTs out there that allow you to take the transmission out with the headers still attached are the hookers.

at the point i'm at it would be easier to pull the whole assembly out, engine and all. My main question is if i can put the engine and transmission back in the car together?

i belive you can, however you will not be able to put the headers on outside the car. i dont have a lot of experience with LTs because they are illegal, however from what ive heard that is the case. remember when your mustang was built the engine was put in from below the car.

thanks for the info. I had forgot about them being assmbled from below. I may see if i can seperate the tranny from the bellhousing and then work the bellhousing on and reattach everything.

Any other ideas from anyone that's installed LT's with the engine out of the car?
