They're both controled by a single module under your dash on the driver's side. I'm having problems with mine too... look at some of my recent posts on this page and you'll probably find out all you need to know.
Ok so today i jumped the fan straight to the battery. The wires in a matter of a sec hot so hot i couldnt hold it and the fan spun really slow. Can i buy a new motor for it or have to replave the complete fan? If so how much.
Also on the a/c. I tested the low pressure switch and it has continewity(sp) i put a volt meter on the plug that it goes into the switch and it reads from 5.5v to 10.5V is this right? I tried jumping it the best i could i think i was able to (really didnt have the best tools) and the cluth still didnt engage. I pushed the shader vavle on both lines for a sec and it has pressure but only air came out no gas. Any help would be great, thanks
