Hey guys!
I'm having problems to start my Mustang GT '00. It sounds like it starts ok, but shuts off by itself almost immediately. I have to press the acelerator at the right moment after it cranks to prevent it from shutting off. It works perfectly afterwards.

I also have a P0340 "Camshaft Position Sensor A Bank 1 Circuit Malfunction" code (I read it might be because of a bad alternator) and I noticed the lights (both exterior and interior) seem to flicker sometimes. Not sure if it's all related.

What do you think?

Know problem…Coramprat is right, it could go on the blink again, and I have seen some times they do that, work for a couple of weeks then start acting up again, so what I do is just clean the IAC once every couple of weeks its been about 5 month and its still cool but all cars are different..

Well, after thoroughly cleaning the IAC, the car started just fine all day (about 7 times) and then the problem reappeared. I figured I'd better buy a new one, so I replaced it and it didn't seem to make any difference :( It's still shutting off about 60% of the times. It cranks and then shakes a little and dies.

Pressing the accelerator still does the trick, so I'll continue doing that while I figure out what's wrong.

BTW, I bought this car a couple weeks ago, and it was working ok until this problem started. Maybe it just needs a major tune-up? Any other ideas?
