ok im new here...i have a 99 cobra and broke a rod. Decided to put another dohc 4.6 found one out of a 97 cobra. got the motor in and found out after all that my intake is different and wont work with the 97 heads. Should i ..A. swap my 99 heads over to the 97 block? B. change wiring harness and use 97 intake and stuff...or any other ideas?....

I think you should pick up one of the cheap M112s floating around and use that as your intake manifold. The M112 is the supercharger that comes stock in the 03/04s. You can get one for $300. They are hard for 2V guys to adapt and use so there is not much of a market there are lots around. Or you need to find a totaled out term and get the blower, wiring harness, intercooler, pcm.

to be honest you should use you 99-02 heads > I'm a big supporter of the 96-98 cobra's because there the under dog ( and I own one ) but the C class heads on a 99-02 and later upper graded for the 03-04 were redesigned to be better ( flow better and make more power) than the B heads on the older 96-98 and you already have a set ( no cost to you short of new gasket's and wrench time ) if they were not hurt when your stock motor went south then use them and put you car back to as close to like it was before your heavy foot got the better of it > this is just my .02> Good luck and keep us posted on how you make out > jeremy

So, I'm gonna assume that you ruined the Teksid block your car had originally. Otherwise, I would've just replaced the rods and a few other things. The 99 heads should work on the 97 block if I remember correctly.

Engine Suggestions on an engine rebuild. Stock cam/GT40Ps or aftermarket on both for a fun weekend driver?
