just put in a new motor in my fuel injected 93, the motor came set up for a carb but I put my FI intake on it. my most recent problem is i forgot to block of a threaded hole on the side of the oil pan. it doesn't look like the sensor on the side of my old motor (low oil i beleive). the hole is threaded on an inset panel that appears to be rivited onto the pan, whatever would go into that hole would almost stick straight up. does anyone know what goes in there and what i could ude to plug it? i tried a 3/8" pipe thread plug from the hardware store but it felt too big, a 1/4" felt like it would fall right through. any ideas? by the way the new motor has trick flow heads and is supposed to make 400 horse, trying to get the car ready for my brothers wedding next saturday.

dip stick hole?? or maybe a feed line for a turbo?? block it off with a non tapered standard plug..that should work, if its too loose try the pipe plug again, as long as its in there at least 1/4" and tight with no leaks you should be good, maybe somebody else can help a little more

can't be a dipstick hole because with 5 quarts in the pan oil comes out of it (I thought it was a dipstick hole too at first glance). I don't think it is a turbo feed because it looks like a factory hole. the 3/8" pipe thread that i tried only went in about a quarter of a turn then it stopped so i think it is the wrong size or thread pitch. i didn't want to force it and cause it to strip and make more problems.

tried the sheetmetal/rtv fix twice and it still leaks oil. did a little research and some website said the pan might be off of a late 70's full size car, but i don't think that is correct because the pan has a double hump like every other fox pan. anyone have any ideas?

the hole is way bigger than an 1/8 inch. dean85gt, do you know what size threads the low oil sensor is on your pan? i tried to put in a sensor that i got off of a later model fox (about a 93) that goes straight out the side but the threads were too big.

i suggest removing the pan and bringing it to a good hardware store, they should be able to fix you up..if not, then while the pan's off you can weld up the hole, clean the inside of the pan real good and make sure there's no welding slag in there and you're good to go
