Ok, i've been doin a search and my eyes are hurting now from reading. I'm trying to figure out what the rear end length of all the mustangs. Whats the stock rear end length of a 67, what is it for the 85-93 mustang, and 94-97 mustang. I'm tryin to figure out if the 94-97 rear end will fit in my 67 with the correct backspacing wheels.

The track width of a 65-66 is 56" and the 67-70 cars are 58". This includes the axels so where you are mounting the wheels. If you're talking about just the housing to the end of the axle tubes it's like 52" and 54" respectively.

Thanks for the help guys, but does anyone know the length of the rear end for a 94 and up mustang. It appears that the 8.8 from 83-93 have the same length rear end as a 67 and 68. Now i need to know if its the same for the 94 and up mustang or not. I have a chance to buy a posi rear end from a 97, i want to know how much wider it is? Thanks

The 67-70 Mustangs all measure about 59 1/4" (wheel flange to wheel flange). The 79-93 Mustangs measure about 59" overall. The 94-98 are 1 1/2" wider. The 99-04s are another 1 1/2" wider. The 94-98 rear will fit a 67-70. I've seen pictures of it on this site. It's close, and requires wheels with a lot of backspacing but it can work.

So if you install a late model rear end on a 67-70, you might be able to use some late model Bullitts?
