Need input on mods for a 95' conv.

It's my daily driver in the summer. I would'nt mind running premium. I want to put on an intake, cold air kit. I'm also putting on staggered Cobra's on it. It has a newer 2 1/2" exhaust. Also need advice on headers that exit exactly like stock, so I don't have to mod the exhaust. Thanks for your help.

Since you don't mind running premium I would bump the timing up a bit from the stock 10* btdc, skip the cold air kit and buy a K&N filter and remove the air intake silencer. Any aftermarket shorty header for 94-95 5.0 mustangs will bolt up to the stock exhaust locations so that shouldn't be a problem. I would definately put some better gears in the rear end like some 3.73's or 4.10's, this will help a bunch. Their is a ton of stuff you can do to these cars, have fun.

First thing you should do on mustangs are gears. Just like the red 95 said for 3.73's or 4.10's. if you gonna put slicks, go for 4:10's, street/strip, go for 3:73's

Header: jet hot FRPP, they are little expensive but 5.0 doesn't like the heat. Then SAVE $ for the heads. The biggest HP gain comes from the heads. get trick or GT-40 alum.

Is the mid-pipe still stock with the 4 cats? If so you should swap that out for either a high-flow catted pipe or an o/r (no cats) pipe. Its by far the largest restriction in the exhaust system, and will give the car a much meaner sound. The headers alone won't give you much in terms of seat-of-the-pants feel, but more for looks and a bit of sound, unless of course you go with longtube headers.

And like the other chaps mentioned above, gears are where its at. I daily drive my 'vert with 3.73's in it and I love 'em.

Then U/D pulleys are a decent mod (I felt a little power)...

If it is an auto guys rave about the higher stall convertors....

Then, on a vert.. FULL LENGTH sub frame connectors welded in. This was a "do first" mod years ago, so especially in a 10+ year old car I would say that should be done

Like a few others said, gears ( I'm running 373's) If its an auto put in a shift kit, what a huge change it made to mine, BBK headers, and sub-frame connectors. I've done all the above to mine and the car is stiffer, the tranny shifts firm, and when you stand it will hold and shift at about 5k and snap your head back!

Where can I find a Cobra intake? I already checked E-bay. I have all cobra exterior parts and just wanted to finish the look and some more power also. How big of a MAF can I put on? A buddy of mine has 80, would it be too big?

check over at the corral.net classifieds. tons of stuff on there.

check out the FAQ at the top of this forum to see what some guys are running as far as combos. gears are your first stop, not an intake. an 80mm mass air is too big for a stock setup you want to run in my opinion. you don't need a maf right now.
