I have a 1986 GT that I would like to convert to the 1987-1993 interior. I am a TOYOTA TECH so I will be able to do this, but I need instructions.. thanks

Its alot of work. Stick with the old school look of the 86 dash.

Interior

Personally I like the '86 interior if its a GT. If you go for the switch, the seats are no problem, the dash should be a straight swap. Lots of work in switching the dash though, I don't even know if the wiring harness is the same. Good luck, keep the '86 though.

I can understand the changing the dash, i might do it my self oneday. but people should not have the 79-86 style to the 87 up. My 3rd mustang i did this and i just regreted it, i should have just bought what i wanted instead of tring to make it. Good luck on find the more info on the dash swap, post it here when you find it.

From what i understand the dash swap is not a straight swap. The pillars are different angles and the swap takes a bit to mould in. There was a detailed write up on it a while back search the forums i'm sure you can find it. Personally i like the 86 dash except for the fact that the 87-93 has neater and more spots to put aftermarket gauges.

Leave the 86 dash alone. Personally I think they look better than the 87-93.
