need internal engine suggestions...please

ok...I just had a bunch of bottom end problems with my 98 gt engine, and it is going to get pulled and completely redone. I was going to put a different engine, but I have a lot of chrome/powdercoating that I want to keep...so this is the route I am going, to rebuild the engine that I have...

question...what all should I do when it is out? I am looking to do a pi headswap (what year is the best??), and also replace the cam (what brand/type for mine?), going to get it bored over...maybe .030?? I am new with all the internal engine stuff...so ANY suggestions on what else should be done, or the stuff I listed would be great.

Find a reputable shop who rebuilds motors, and has experience rebuilding 4.6's. let them take care of it. go forged as well, you're just wasting your money by sticking with stock internals. If I had to make a suggestion, give Tim @T&J a call, he rebuilt my motor and I couldn't be happier. I threw 3 rods in Texas, sent him my block and he rebuilt everything, sent the whole long block back, try him first.
