My father and and I are going to look at a 2000 Lightning coming up this weekend. It has about 95000 miles on the clock. Carfax is clean, as is the title. From the photos he showed me, someone has painted the truck grabber blue but didn't spray the engine bay, it has aftermarket HID headlights and matching style taillights, and the grills are the billet horizontal bar style. Under the hood I saw a K/N cold air but the pulley and everything else appeared to be aged with surface rust. So Im assuming that the cai is as far as the performance mods go.
Is there any red flags or big hints to watch for when looking to buy Lightnings? What are their common problems? What usually ends up breaking? Any advise is greatly appreciated
