Well to start out... i have a 1995 v6 stang and i have already dualled it out. im looking for something cheap that will have major gains in horsepower and torque. I read a little on here and it seems as though many people want to put in a cold-air intake....is this worth the money in which one costs?? and also ive heard about throttle bodies. know where to find one of these cheap?? and is it worth it?

not gonna really have MAJOR gains until you go FI or start spraying it... bolt ons arent really gonna be anything major..

Well you could change the Rear end ratio to 3:73. It will help out with the get up and go. Its not really cheap though with the gears running about $150 and the tuner to calibrate your speedometer running about $350. If your looking to get a big difference in the way the car drives and feels this is a good thing to do. As someone else has mentioned you wont really see that big of a difference with bolt-ons.

doing the gears would be no cheaper than nitrous... 150 for gears, say 350 like the above for a tuner, then 150-250 for install, then whatever else you might need past that, oils, old bearings and seals that must be replaced. Its gonna still be 650-750 total. But things like CAI or pulleys etc.... they just wont give you what i think you're expecting out of a simple bolt on. Like you mentioned the CAI yes it might have a little bit of hp gain but what? 5 or so at the most.. You'd be paying like $30 for MAYBE 1 rwhp. Get Nitrous for maybe 500-600 if you can find one used... if not im sure its not that bad. Might even be cheaper... Go with a 50 or a 75 shot. Then you're looking at around $10-15 per 1 rwhp. (hope my figures are right. not quite sure on nitrous kit prices) But, i do support changing the gears. Although it's not going to actually make more power, it just makes it faster Doing 3.73s in my gt

You can do the gears for a little less if you use a simple speedo calibrator like the one available from Dallas Mustang. You can't adjust timing or anything else, but it's $100 vs. $350.

I agree that either nitrous or gears are going to be your biggest performance gains for the money. Nitrous for the track and gears for everyday driving. The cheaper stuff like intake and pulley give a very minor boost in power.

I have dual Flowmasters, cold air intake, and throttle body spacer in my car. It made a little difference. The cheapest way to get big hp is nitrous, but it's not on all the time and you have to keep buying more nitrous. Gears will make the car feel quicker, but it'll hurt your mileage. Gas isn't $1.50 anymore, remember.

Its not cheap anymore but if people are worried about hurting their mileage a little then they probably would not be on here asking how to get their car to go faster. It is a valid point though that changing the gears will affect the mileage but i think most people would understand that. On a different note did you notice any difference with that throttle body spacer? I've heard mixed opinions on them.

The throttle body spacer makes a little bit of difference, nothing that pins you back in the driver's seat, but it's a step in the right direction. I think the Diablosport Predator tuner made a bigger difference.

go for the gears. going from stock to 4.10's you'll think your car is on speed!!!!
