Need QUICK Answer!!!

Ok guys, looking over my car today I realized that I made a goof when installing my CAI. I put the factory screen back in a bolted everthing back in place like that. I heard a rattle today and looked under the hood and found my rattle. A screw had come loose to the point it almost came off around the Mass Air Meter. What can I use for a gasket instead of putting the screen back on so I can seal it good???

Any quick answers would be appreciated. Its getting dark

You could just take the screen out and leave it like that too.

When my roomie and I put the thing on we noticed that it bent the Mass Air Meter edges so we didnt crank the screws down. Hence why they came loose now. If it wont mess up anything Ill just bolt the thing down as is then.

I was told you shouldn't take that screen out. Maybe a little better gain without the screen? Did anyone else remove the screen that separates the MAF and the inlet?

I did but i have the densecharger intake and that's what it calls for

The screen is a bit to big to fit on the BBK piece that attaches to the fenderwell. It causes it to BULGE and doesnt give me a fit that I can just crank the screws down tight. I have to semi tighten them so the Mass Air Meter ends dont crack.
Can I use like a cereal box and cut it to fit around the Mam and then use sealer, or can I just leave the seal out?

I have the BBK setup and it fits a little snug, but nicely. So can we get an educated answer on this? Is it safe to NOT USE the screen?

Some lose the screen and this is where the Darkwolf mod came about. It won't hurt the car but it will run a little rich. Some rotate the MAF toward the fender to alleviate this (Darkwolf).

Well I tried for about 30 mins to get the screen in somehow but I still couldnt get it to line up right without there being a bulge somewhere around the lip of the mass air meter. I just cut a piece of cereal box out to fit and bolted it on. If we can get a legit answer on this and we need the screen, I guess Ill trim and try to get it on this weekend
If it is just the darkwolf mod thing then Ill deal .

Lose the screen ...You dont need the screen unless you put it together half ass and allow foreign crap to manage there way in .... my bbk cold air bolted up perfect the screws are very secure without the screen in between ....goodluck

When I put the MAC cold air on I didn't replace the screen. When I changed it to the C&L Mass Air Meter I didn't use the screen either. I don't have any problems, and my A/F ratio seems fine.

I haven't had a screen for 2 years, didn't even realize I threw it out until I cleaned my MAF and couldn't find the screen

lol sweet Screen is out and is staying out then. Looks a lot better and I dont have to worry about a screw coming loose!
