Need some ? answer about Antenna base on 2000 mustang gt?!?!?!

I posted 1 week ago about how to fix a broken screw down in the antenna base but to no advail with easy out it wont come out, so its not expensive to order a new base portion, so Im wanting to know for those who have done it do I have to route the antenna cord all the way to the radio or does it unhook from bottom of base so i can just bolt that together and screw in a new antenna???


need to know before I buy



**wanted to add I got the magnapack catback installed today and It is amazing over the 2 chamber flowmasters with stock catback.. cant believe the difference ** 2 chamber mufflers dont work with x pipes they sound horrible **

yeah it pops off at the base of the antenna. I just went to the local junkyard and got the base for free. entire car was burned except the front fender, lucky me.

so all i do is pop cap off, unscrew base, pull it out of fender than unhook orange antenna cable line from bottom of base, reconnect it to new base, screw it down, pop cap on and im set??????? **no running antenna cord back to radio?

Take the inner fender out and pull the screw out with Vise Grips. Then drill the base out. No need to spend money on a new one.
