Need some help ASAP.. Please!

Heres the deal. Im looking to buy a 97 GT 5 speed. Body is in great shape, with just one knick on the bumper. New crystal headlights, aftermarket H-pipe w/ flows and a CAI. Interior is leather, its decently clean but has wear on the drivers seat. Heres the problem. They just did (less than 10 miles ago) the manifold swap to the metal crossover. The old one leaked, so they fixed it.. so on. So I go and start the car, and it cranks right up, no smoke that I saw, idles fine. I pop the hood.. theres a little squeek coming from the accecories area, im guessing loose belt. So I grab the TB and revv it a few times, it revvs right up.. but it felt like it missed a little. So I asked if I could take it out, and they said sure. I got on the road and it felt fine, and I went to make a turn and got on the gas a little bit and could feel it missing. It didnt feel like it was down on power a whole lot, maybe a little though. It only misses under load though. Car doesnt run hot, shifts fine.. just misses. Took it up to about 4k and it still misses. I told the guy it needs a tune pretty bad, and he said if I liked the car enough they would take care of it. My question is.. is it possible they screwed up puttin the manifold on? Or do you think its probaly time for a tune. The wires didnt look new, nor did the little box thing the wires come from (I know what it is, but I cant think of what its called.. im used to distibutors, lol.) Anyway, they are asking 4500 for it negotiable. Its got 133k on it. Only other concern I have is they might have re-sprayed it. Its an auttum orange like in color, but under the hood its a little darker. I didnt notice anything bent up under the hood though.. and the car is tight when it drives, and brakes are good too. If anyone has any advice id GREATLY appreciate it, cause I need to get back to the guy soon.

the missing can be alot of things, plugs, wires, vaccum leaks, ETC. it could also be if the previous owenr put a PI intake from the 99 and up cars on there and didnt seal it properly, this caused my car to miss a little like that. however i fixed it by taking it off and RTVing and using new gasgets. look behind the alternator and see if the intake goes all the way down to the valley of the block, if it does its a PI intake, if theres a little space (1-2 inches) then its a non PI intake intended for that car and that shouldnt be the problem. As to the paint, its possible it was repsrayed, check the door jambs and lift on the trim panles there to see if the colors differ. other than that offer them 3800 on it and be happy!

Wow, now that you mention it.. You can actually see the whole vally under the intake manifold. I noticed some antifreeze left over there.. but it didnt really register. Is there spose to be something that covers it up? Cause its open from the bottom of the manifold to the valley. It was done by a shop, so I assume its a non-pi intake.. could be wrong though. I checked the door jams and didnt see any mis-matched color. So maybe its just factory.. I think I know what im looking at pretty well for not actually owning one of these cars yet.. I just dont want to start off by buying the wrong one.

Now that I think about it theres another thing.. Looked like it had a 5.0 type radiator.. I didnt see the usual 4.6 overflow tank right behind the rad. I dont think my eyes are playing tricks on me either.. Oh well, im used to never finding a good one. Maybe I should just forget bout this one too. This sucks bad. Maybe ill stick to modding my Jeep..

I allready passed up the best 2 I could have found. Ill honestly be suprised if I find any more that were in as good as shape as these were, for the same price. #1 was a red 95 GT 5 speed. 84k, loaded power everything w/ leather.. mach sterio could have been mine for $5800. 2nd one was a white 95 GT 5 speed, cloth, power everything, no mach sterio, 93k for $4900.. Both were mint. I was so dumb not to buy either one. Ahh, to be young and stupid.. Ive learned my lesson, now im just afriad im gonna get too jumpy and buy the wrong one.. I guess I should just chill out till the one comes along.

Or.. I could avoid the high-insurance, keep my Jeep and build a stroker engine for it, AND be faster than a few minor bolt on non-pi 4.6 guys.. mid-14's in the 1/4 mile. That would be funny chit, but it still isnt a V-8, doesnt have the Mustang sound.. ahhhh I need help.
