need some help guys!

i think i have a bad lifter. we was adjusting the valves and got eveything good and one keeps ticking. now its gotten a whole lot louder and theres a miss to the engine. how do i check and see if a lifter is bad?


also, can weak springs cause this too? the stock springs are in there with the bigger cam.

Are you sure its not a exhaust leak?

100 percent positive. its the intake valve on the last cylinder on the drivers side. (i think thats 8 isnt it?)

My guess would be, since you are running an aftermarket cam, that you are pulling a rocker stud out of the head.

Either that or you wiped a lobe on the cam.

Have you checked to make sure that you don't have a bent pushrod. I had this happen several years ago when I still had iron heads and the close tolerance slot in the head was oval shaped and was letting the rocker slide off the valve tip.
