i was driving and my car just suddenly shut off. i went to restart it and nothing, dosnt turn over, fuel pump dosnt turn, dosnt click. the headlights, interior lights, and power door locks are the only electrical componants that work. tail lights, power windows, radio, are all not working. i checked all the fuses in drivers compartment and they are all good. i replaced the battery and still nothing. i just wanted to get some advice before i start taking stuff apart. can anyone help?

This is just my gut instinct but it sounds a lot like something to do with the ignition switch. Take a look at this: TMoss Ignition Switch Wiring there are fuses that are being powered through the ignition switch so even if the fuses are good you won't be getting power to the fuse panel. Headlights, interior lights, and door locks don't require the ignition to be on to have power at the fuse. So the first thing I'd check is if you are getting power to those fuses that are numbered in the link above

I like the idea of checking the ignition switch too.

Do the headlights really function but the tail lights don't? They share circuit protection.
