Okay I have replaced the distributor cap 3 times. When I run the car at higher rpms the distributor sounds like its comes out of the groves. It starts vibrating real bad along with a nasty metal to metal sound. What the real problem is that ever time it does this, it breaks the metal rotor tip. I'm stump Any one had this sort of problem?

That was also what I would suspect.

Yep, your entire distributor needs to be replaced. But, at least you have a brand new cap/rotor to put in it's place.

i agree with everyone.
when you pull it, check the shaft for run out. bet you have some. nice upgrade choice
does your cap have grooves worn in the contact points (or is the rotor scored?)? curious - sometimes they/it will and sometimes they/it wont.
good luck.

The Accel cap that I had on previously was really bad off before it hit the dust. The MSD cap was brand stinking new and hit the dust in just a short drive. I always heard a noise on the highway just couldn't sniff it out until recently. Oh well...on to bigger and better things
