Anyone have any idea how to disable the steering interlock on a 1990 Mustang?

I've searched on the forums but can't seem to find an answer to this one as it's an uncommon question.

The racing series I am participating in requires the steering lock be disabled.

Thanks!

I am not sure if I am missing something oin the article-link posted....but I have already disabled the ignition key lock. That's one of the first things I do when I acquire a Mustang....I can't STAND those things.

Is the sterring column lock located elsewhere or is it a matter of fiddling with the ignition tumbler?

I need the car to steer regardless of there being a key in the ignition or not.

Thanks for the response.

Still needing help....

4G-KDMP,

I pulled the gear column lock and it did what I was hoping for.....but it also disabled any ignition. The ignition tumbler just spins around in the steering column now...

What am I missing?
