I need to see if there are tricks to weeding out the problem with my turn signals. I can turn on the hazzard lights & they flash as they should so that tells me the flasher is good but, the lights do not light up on instrument cluster? I use the turn signal switch and they do not work either side nor does the flasher click like it is working. Could it be so simple that the turn signal switch itself is bad? How could I easily troubleshoot? Why would that dash light not lite up when the hazzards are on? Oh yeah they have worked like this since I have owned the car it has been a work in progress so I haven't been driving it on the road but plan to start soon.

Thanks,
Bill

The turn signal flasher is separate from the hazard flasher. Depending on your year model car, the turn signal flasher can be on the back side of the fuse panel, behind the stock radio or behind the glove compartment. It's an Easter Egg Hunt!

:stupid:Damnit...

It's usually a foregeone conlusion that JR knows more than me but I'm usually quicker on the draw. :D

hey turn the key to the run position, then use a test lite to see if all your fuses work. if you come across one that doesn't of course check the fuse then the connection it self, if you get no power and you should be, chances are its your ignition switch connector. i had the same prob and it ended up being the ignition connector switch. goor luck

Where is this ignition switch connector. Is it on the steering column? I was planning to test the switch first but didn't know where the easiest place to test it would be. As far as the fuses go I could just check the fuse that controls the turn signals first. I was curious who had encontered similar problem. All these stang owners in here I do not think there is a problem out there one of us hasn't came across yet. We are all experts troubleshooting after we find the problem....Being good at troubleshooting is what separates the parts swapers from the tech's!

Ok I checked all the fuses just to be safe. I found the signal flasher under the dash behind the radio, I guess that is it the blue box. Anyways it would click once and then nothing either side. Then i left in on on one side for a minute or two while I was waiting it started flashing on dash & at the bulb on both sides & the dash lights up with the hazzards now. BUT they flash very slowly like 3-5 seconds between flash's, seems much slower than any other stang I have had. Could it be the flasher is going out? The connector on the back of the flasher felt a little warm but no bad wires or dirty connections there. Ideas?
