Need to repaint accessory brackets, need opinions

I'm gonna start cleaning a few things up in my 'bay again, and my first task is to redo my accessory brackets. I want them painted a color that will make them disappear...i don't want them to stand out and look stupid. I don't know if black will really do the trick either because i don't want big gloss black parts right in the front of my bay, and i don't think flat black will look right. I don't want them to stand out and pop out and be the first thing you see. What kind of color might work for this? I also wanna keep it as factory looking as possible (nothing like having '03 Cobra power in a factory looking engine..lol).

I'm also debating on having the breather lid, intake and valve covers all poweder coated a bare aluminum color, to get them back to as stock in color as i can. The original Powered By Ford covers were raw aluminum like the intake and the lid was machined. The breather base was a satin black which i may repaint to get back to that color instead of the flat black.

I used a matte silver paint that looks like bare aluminum.

You gotta color coordinate with the rest of the engine bay. I vote factory gray or flat black.

just paint them back to a satin silver. if you're going for a 'factory' look, that's about as factory and plain as you can get. they'll blend in with the silver accessories attached to them too.

Dont go silver, it will stand out if the read of your engine isnt silver. Go black. Dont go gloss or flat, use satin, or low gloss.

I dont know, the more I look at those pics, black would just make everything disappear into one shapless mass. I change my vote to aluminum.

I just had my accessory brackets done by MANSONOZZ on these boards and he did them in a factory looking silver and I really like how they turned out.

All the pics you guys posted look great...just not "factory" looking. I guess the right answer for a real factory look would be a greyish silver color, since they were just raw aluminum from the factory. I could have them glass bead blasted, which is what the breather lid is now, but the problem with that is that it doesn't stay that way for long and starts to tarnish quick. I do think eventually the valve covers are gonna be a satin silver or bare aluminum color, so that'll break up the "black mass" effect. The all black engines work for some cars but i don't think it'd work with my car. I think it's either a satin grey or black.

I will try to get pictures up of the powder coated parts I had done, they really do have a factory look to them.

Satin black on everything but the air cleaner lid - that part you should just sand and polish up, and maybe clearcoat it. I totally suck at bodywork and making things really pretty, but even I was able to sand and polish mine to a pretty shine. Just started with Fine (220 grit) paper and worked on up to the finer stuff, just swirling it around in a circle, and then finally hit it with some Turtle Wax Chrome Polish (has some very, very, very fine abrasives in it) and it's holding up nicely, even without a clearcoat.

Which is what exactly? Never seen it.

Its a grey that looks like Cast Iron, you can see I tried it on a EGR in this pic, wasn't sure at the time what I wanted to do with my motor.
