Need to replace instrument cluster

I need to replace my instrument cluster because the temp. gauge is not working properly. I have found a used one with about the same mileage as mine. Are they hard to swap out and what all needs to be done? Any reprogramming?

there are differing opinions about the need to reprogram.

Ford and some "experts" will say that you do ...

but I read where occasional the install can be accomplished with a simple plug-in swap.

no matter how it turns out, please come back and let us know how it works.

Rule out thermostat and sending unit before you pull cluster !!!!!
