So when I bought my car if came with 20" wheels and now it's time to buy new tires. I was looking at BFG KDW 2's. I had my them on my last Mustang and I really liked them. Anyway it's going to cost me 1100 bucks for them, thats a lot of cash. Problem is with these wheels are they are a different size in the back and front so I can't rotate them, so my tires won't last long.

So now I'm kinda thinking about buying new wheels and going with 18's so I can rotate my tires and not pay as much when it is time to put tires on it.

What do you guys think? I really like the wheels on the car, but I don't want to spend this much money every year for tires.

If anyone has any suggestions for wheels post them up.

Thanks for the help.

Heres some pics of my current wheels and car.

Well, do you really like these wheels? If so, buy tires for them. If it were me I'd ditch them right away, 20s are way too big for these cars.

I like the style of the wheels, but I agree I would rather have 18's, I think the 20s are a little to big.

I'm thinking of going with 18" Saleens http://www.americanmuscle.com/ch20musawh1.html

Or some 18" chrome bullets.

The chrome Saleen is a nice wheel on our car. I'd hate to pay $1100 a year for tires! The tires that are on the back now aren't wide enough for the wheel. I see they are 245/40-20 and probably should be at least a 255 if not a 275 since the sidewall bulges or "balloons" out to meet the wheel lip.
Here's pics of a buddy's car with the Saleens.

i really like those wheels. they are unique. its not like every other ford wheel you see on a stang.

if you like the style, i'd say stick with em. they make your car unique. i know what wheels i'm going to go with when i get the cash just because i've seen them on one car before for our body style and it was a gt500 that is completely done up. kenne bell forged internals etc.

like kooldawg said. go with a wider tire out back. it looks kind of stretched out.

Yeah I've noticed the tires in the back. It's been bugging me ever since I bought it, when I priced tires they were going to put a 275 on the back with the same size on the front.

I do like how they make my car unique, I see black 05+ GT's everywhere. But I've never seen another Mustang with the wheels that I have, but the 1100 price tag for tires kinda sucks. I'm really leaning towards the chrome Saleen wheels, thanks for the pics kooldawg, your buddies car looks awesome with them on.

If I dropped down to 18" Saleen wheels, do you guys think I would notice any difference? I'm sure it would probably have a softer ride? But would it feel any faster?

255-35's up front and 275-35's out back would help to fill ot the wheel alittle better.

New tires every year? How many miles do you put on your car a year? Sounds to me like you need to stop doing burnouts!

I went through a set of tires in alittle over a year myself As a matter of fact the car was out of warranty in 13 months...and had 3 miles when I got it.

It's got about 15,000 miles on it right now. I have done a few burnouts, but I think most of my problem is I can't rotate my tires because the wheels are a different size. One my last Mustang I burned out more then I do in this one and my tires would last longer.

I like how my current wheels make my car more unique, but I'm thinking I'm going to be happier with the 18" Saleens.

Thanks for the help guys, if anyone has any ideas of some other wheels that they think would look good, post up some pics! :SNSign:
