i have a 1999 mercury mountaineer with the gt-40p heads and gt-40 intake which i plan to install on my 1990 foxbody. but just so as not to be going into this completely blind (as this is my first time to do any work more extensive than a tune-up) can anyone tell give me any helpful hints? i have a cam to install (edel 7122) and i know of the valve spring upgrade necessary. i plan to replace pushrods and headbolts. the cam isn't a roller cam as far as what i'm told and i can't seem to locate info regarding the lifters and rockers in the mountaineer heads to find out if they're rollers or not. that's my current question but any information regarding this upgrade would be greatly appreciated

Explorer/mountaineer 302s are roller cam engines. Lifters, and hardware is same as mustang.

You'll need new springs on the heads, as well as various mustang spevific accessory dress items, oil pan, etc. but the short block is the same as a 5.0 HO
