Okay this one is for you wiring gurus. So I pulled out the old pedal assembly and started looking for the harnesses that are supposed to be up under the dash to hook to the 5spd assembly and they are not there so I keep investigaing and finally realize that the ends were cut off of them and they were wired up to some harness for and old alarm system that had remote start capabilities that the previous owner installed. So now how am I supposed to hook this ***** up? I wired the reverse lights up underneath the car at the trans and jumpered the other two wires together. Is there any way I can bypass hooking the under dash wires up at all and still make the car start or do I need to come up with the jerry rigging job of the century to hook this stuff up? Please help anyone.

car should start without being plugged in at the pedals.

when i did my t5 swap. I left it unplugged, i never could find the NSS to plug into it. So i left it and it starts fine. I can start it without pressing the clutch.

kinda sucks bc a couple times i forgot the press it and it was in gear and the car lurched forwards as i tryed to start it.

some things that i was misinformed about the t5 swap

poeple always said to get a a new xmember, or cut and slide the aod one.
well the aod crossmember fits right up to it. its right at the end but it does fit.

The aod driveshaft DOES fit, but definatly isnt made to be used with a t5. Better off the get a real t5 shaft. or better yet an alum unit.

and i found that the car will start without the NSS

Thanks foxfan. I'll give it a try. I was thinking since it was wired for remote start that all that nss crap is jumpered together already, so I might be okay. I appreciate the input.

I think you are right about the NSS being bypassed for the remote start (not the brightest idea in the world).

It would be easy enough to test the wires if you need to. I would recommend getting the clutch safety switch and NSS all wired up, especially if anyone else ever drives your car. It would suck to crank the motor with it in gear.

Good luck.
