Just to let everyone on Stang-net know. I purchased a set of L/T Headers for my 99 Cobra. After spending about two days trying to put the driver side on, I realized the reason it wasn't going on was because the flange was different. So I called up MAC and told them my story, and the 2nd incharge guy told me it was impossible, and that I didn't know what I was doing. I took it to the local high performance exhaust shop, and they confirmed my theory, but MAC also told them they had no idea what they were doing!!! So I finally spoke to a secretary who helped me out, by letting me do a 1-for-1 swap, but I had to send my header in first, (at my expense) to get the new one. Well, almost a month later,(even though they sure liked taking my money quickly) I still don't have my header, and they won't even talk to me!!!!!!!! Just to let all of you know, I have been without my baby for a month this Thursday!!!! This not only sucks, but is costing me alot of money, as my vehicle has been apart at the shop this whole time, when I could have put this on myself, had MAC not screwed me over!!!! Has anyone ever had a problem with MAC? What should I do? My wife and I are thinking of contacting the Better Business Bureau, is this a good course of action. I NEED HELP!!

No flame meant, but you shouldn't have went with MAC in the first place because if you had installed them, their longtubes would have destroyed your engine (causing massive oil consumption). Some have said that cleaning out the welding slag inside of the headers would avoid this problem, but I believe the jury is still out on that. When confronted with the problem, MAC has denied any responsibility...if I recall correctly.

There is a very detailed thread about the whole "MAC L/T headers consuming oil" problem over in the SVT/DOHC section of the Corral.net msg board, but their search engine is temporarily down while they are upgrading the forum otherwise I'd link the thread here for you.

Bottomline is that MAC has a poor track record with their 4V longtube headers. Return them at the speedshop if you can & opt for a different brand...

Report them to the BBB in whatever town they are located in. Just remember if they are not a member then you are waisting your time. File a complaint with the attorney general's office of the state they are located in.

I would buy their cat-back and mid-pipe but stay away from their headers. BTW they are located in Temecula, Ca. They screwed me when I had my Lightning, when I lived in San Diego.......long story.

MAC sucks, everybody knows that. I would never buy a product that is so cheesy and low budget.

I had issues with some long-tubes a couple of years ago. Like the 99cobraNix, they gave me the runaround on the phone so I drove to their headquarters. First impressions are everything and the MAC operation looks like a bunch of no talent ass clowns. I emplore anyone is SoCal to go take a look a MAC and then make your decision. Anyway, they had to fix my problem which they had claimed on the phone wasn't possible. They still did a half-ass job with their fix. I feel bad for 99cobraNix, been there done that.

I had to send my equal lengths back to california at my expense......$35 and 3 weeks later, I had a different set that fit perfectly. They also tried to tell me I didnt know what I was doing. My reply was that they didnt know how to make performance parts.

dude....I'm sorry but you are stupid for buying mac in the first place. You could have asked for advice on this site and everyone would have told you that s h i t like this was going to happen. Always remember you get what you pay for with the exception of the JLT cold air kit. I feel for you though bro. Nobody should have to go without their stang. I agree report them to the BBB.

It may suck not having your car for a month but there is a positive behind this because you could be saying right now why is my engine burning oil. I have seen it first hand with mac longtubes on a 98 cobra, new longblock later and a set BBK longtubes problem solved. Trying to save a couple hundred bucks ended up costing over $4k for the guy. I would personally look into a set of hookers, bassani, or BBK.

one time i made the mistake of buying a make product. Only it was a "aluminum shift knob-polished). They failed to mention that the "polish job" on it would last about as long as a loly pop. Will never consider buying one of their useless products again-hope they soon go out of business.
