Never ending argument

is there really a 64 1/2 stang? cause i heard that on their vin it has a 5 in there year. therefore, how many of us who thinks we hae a plain 65 could really have a 64 1/2??

Nope. According to Ford they were all 65.

Technicaly no, they are all 1965s. But there are significant differences (about 70-75 total) between an early '65 (1964-1/2) and later '65s. The quickest method to tell is the early cars were all built to 1964 specifications, which mean that they all have generators.

Also the hood corners and headlight buckets were different also (amoung other minor things).

Not to mention the "minor" engine differences, 170 I-6 and 260 V-8 in the "64 1/2" and the 200 I-6 and 289 V-8 in the "65"!

Now guys, if it's good enough for Ford, why not accept it? I mean, just because they ran out of Falcon parts and all...............

ya...and look what they did in '74.......re-dressed the Pinto to look "Mustang-ish"!

Perhaps the early 65 owners could complain and ask the DMV for a 64.5 MODIFIED FALCON title? Is a horse by any other name still a horse? A horse is a horse of course, of course.............la la la

Yeah. Don't tell Mustang II owners they have a pintostang. They don't like it too much.
