Hey I just got a 65' coupe that needs "some" work. Needs most body work and a frame rail. I plan on building a 289 for it. Ive got the c5 block. Id like to get some engine building input. I am going to go with a magnum solid cam, performer rpm air gap or victor intake, dart windsor heads, tri y's but I want to know what I can do to enhance the bottom end? Crank I think will be ok but main caps and rods are what scare me. Anyone familiar with mexican blocks? Theyve got thick main caps rather than the neck down ones (same as hipo 289). Whats a decent set of rods that arent going to set me back too bad. Any other input on this build would be awesome thanks. :SNSign:
