Hey, I see you have built a blowthrough setup also. We have the same horsepower, but my torque is up. At what rpm did you peak. I wasnt able to peak because I was fighting an insufficient fuel system. The carb was great, but I needed an electrical pump and larger fuel lines.

Same here, we have fuel issues as well. Power is still to be found.
Dyno curves are here:

Thanks for the info. I know a lot of people on here run AFR heads and I am glad to see they don't just stay satisfied with what they have and continue to try to improve on an already great product.
I know the heads I will be buying now for my new motor.

BTW...What happend to the Cobra made me sick.

How much more does the CNC ported AFR's cost? How do they compare to the heads worked over by a repatble company like FTI which seems to be the company of choice for all the top names.

TPC carbs are horrible. The guy went on his honeymoon in the middle of the built but said it would be sent out before he left. It didnt and so I sat there with no word waiting 2 weeks. Even after that, it took another 2 weeks for them to get it to me. The jets were hand tight and one of the accelerator pump bolts was only screwed in half way. He denied all of that. I paid $450 for nothing really. He said none of the surfaces needed work, I already had the proform main body installed that was polished and had screw in bleeds. It also already had jet extensions and nitrophyl floats. All he did was change soon circuits, mill for the throttle shafts and install the lines and that cost me $450. On top of that, he promised to make it up with a $20 gas card, and a free carb built anytime in the future. When I called him on it, he said he wouldnt do it. He kept my old jets, and accelerator pump and got pissed when I wanted them back since they were fine. The boosters he installed look the exact same as the ones in the proform so I dont think he changed them. Screw that guy!

i thought all AFR heads were CNC ported, its just now the new 165 'race' head or whatever he is calling it, takes more time, because he changes what the cnc machine is doing, it ends up taking more time, time is money.

i'm pretty sure a typical out of the box, 'old' or 'normal' afr 165 is CNC ported as well. you can find them from 1150-1250 probably cheaper depending who you know.
