New and old power steering pumps are loud!

K so we all know the sound. My mustang and f-150 make them. The truck got a new pump but its the same as the old one. What have I been doing wrong? The motor in the car is loud so its no big deal but the truck is driving me crazy. Everything under the hood is new including the motor and trans so I should have no problems and be able to enjoy the dam thing for once.

Am I using the wrong fluid? Some dirt from not flushing the entire system maybe? Please help if u have been here and fixed it. I dont want to be led down a dark hallway with no flashlight. Thanks guys.

I added the Lucas stop leak to mine, works great.

Check into it, some Fords specify using Automatic Transmission fluid!!! Def check to see what they recommend. Also Lucas stuff is amazing. Another thing to remember is new pumps do have a break in period, meaning they will whine for a bit

The Owners Manual and Ford Service Manual both say to use Type F Fluid.

I use tranny fluid and Lucas as well.No "whining" pump.
