New aRRSe end....

The brochure we got in the mail shows the car as a '65 or '66 fastback. It won't be available here until August sometime.

I must admit, the whole setup just didn't look right to me, if you know what i mean. The SFC's and the 'ladder' from only one side of the diff just look weird.

But it did give me a few ideas... :D
 
The rear axle torque is carried for the most part to the front sub frame. Therefore the sfc's are not AS important.
It seems like a watts link is to eliminate lateral movement. Not only do the axle brackets seem flexy, but everything is mounted in urethane. A poor attempt IMO.
 
overall i like the system a lot, except for the sub frame connectors, i imagine they do provide some added stiffness but certainly it wouldn't be as much as a regular set of sfc's. that torque arm looks like it would take most of the space where the exhaust runs as well which would mean relocating the exhaust out of the tunnel to under the floors which also means reduced ground clearance as well.

well after looking the pics some more i believe i know why the sfc's are so small, it looks like they made them that way for side exhaust clearance, since the torque arm and the watt's link are using most of the area where a stock style exhaust would run.

they have to mount everything in urethane. the australian government wont allow the use of the typical heim joint/rod end for some reason, that's also the reason for their front strut rod bearing assembly as well.
