I tried a new staging method and was rewarded with a new best :nice: I staged real shallow instead of deap, and only brought it up to 1000 rpm's instead of 1500.I ran a 14.1 @ 95 mph, with a 1.9 60foot,and beat a new GTO in the process :nice: He ran a 14.3.I have to change my times in my sig.Great night at the track :nice:

13's are so close! I fought for a long time to get that 13.xx finally I got the 13.99 then came a 13.90@100 on street tires.

I cant wait to get to the track with my new motor and see what it has in it. It seems to be running really strong.

Youll get to the 13's Take the passinger seat and the spare tire and all that out to ligten it up that ought to help. Personally i run full weight on street tires so I get a feel for what it will do on street.

I agree,,,the only thing I took out was my tool box.

I go to Island Dragway in Great Meadows NJ. Its 2 hours from Staten Island. Actually if I put back in my 373's,they are worth 2-3 tenths and I will be in the 13's with stock HP :nice: . Next week I'LL try staging a little deeper, and see what happens. :nice:

Good job, I went to the track last night, but i went to Englishtown, my car goes consistent 14.5's/14.6's...my best is 14.3...i hafta get rid of these 2.73's!!! I hate asking questions that will make me sound like i dont know anything, but how do you deep stage and shallow stage, im very intrested. Thanks.

Deep stage= light the second bulb and keep rolling. A true deep stage will roll so far forward that the first bulb will go out. Must have DEEP displayed on the car or get DQ'ed.

Shallow stage is light the first bulb, then super slowly creep to the second and barely light it.

A shallow stage gives you a few more inches of rolling start. A deep stage puts you a few inches closer to the finishline.

For drag racing, you need to stage consistently as it can affect your track consistency. (need spell check) I personally try to barely light the first bulb because I see that as a measurable reproducable method and my track wont let us deep stage to turn off second bulb.

Another little tidbit: A tall front tire shows more mph at the top end. A shorter front tire will help you cut a better light. That is why most superstock type cars have huge front tires. I have 24 inch tall tires to kill them on the tree. Now if I could only drive....

Yeah..staging deep is better for bracket racing, as it'll get you a better reaction time. Staging shallow is supposedly better for your ET & MPH.

Never been to Island - I usually hit up Englishtown. Was gonna go last night, but it looked like it was gonna rain. Figures it didn't. lol

Nice work, though. You'll get that 13 second slip soon enough!

Thanks dude :nice: Ive been to English Town,,its my favorite track to race at.I wanna check out Atco one of these days!! Yeah, when staging deep you get a better R/T. This is my first season of racing.I got my best when staging deep,,, .001 on a pro tree :nice:
