I have a 68 with manual drums currently on my car. I am switching to Granadas with a 68 manual disc brake MC. I am going to have to replace the lines, so I was wondering if you all bent them yourselves or if you bought them. Would I buy them again for a 68 with a drum master cylinder or disc. Also I am going to run a Wilwood Proportioning valve. Thanks for the help.

I just bought brake lines for a Granada and they worked just fine. I'm assuming you're talking about the hoses, not the hard lines.

If you're talking about the hard lines, just make them yourself.

I tried making them myself. but got frustrated and ordered some stainless lines from a company.

they sucked. the fitment was way off (by 4") and I had to do some bending to get them to work. now it looks like total crap.

now I think I might try to bend some again. it works now, but maybe further down the line I will fix it.

I will try to figure out what company I used. I would avoid them. the rear brake lines fit up perfect. to bad the pretty stainless lines cant be seen.

I made my own. I have made them for several other cars as well. The key is to use a good bender and a good double flare tool. The best deal I found on hard line is from summit (part# SUM-220136 for 3/16). It comes in a 25' roll for $13. You can buy the line ends and fittings at your local auto parts store or online.

On ebay for 35 dollars I bought a complete set of precut brake lines with the right fittings on them and they were each marked on were to go, all i did was bend them. Saved alot of time.

Do you still have the sellers name for these??

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was actually talking of the hard lines, not the rubber. I really think I may bend the lines myself now because of the different master cylinder and the proportioning valve I am going to run. Can I purchase the brakeline bender and the flange tool in any autoparts store or should I buy it from Eastwood or somewhere else online. Also, what should I expect to pay for both. It seems as if the flange tool would be more expensive.

any Autozone or equivalent has brakeline benders and flaring tools, much cheaper than Eastwood, although the quality isnt as great, no doubt.

straight line is too cheap not to bend it yourself, IMO...even allowing for 1-2' of 'whoops' ;)
