I have been looking around for some time now at a new paint job. Well i were i got my quote from they said there was going to be some labor fixing my bumper covers ( have a spider crack in one and a couple small nicks in the other one ) But he said if i put new bumpers on that the hours would just transfer over.

I heard that those spider cracks and stuff could come back anyway. So i found a new Stock front bumber on ebay advertised to have no fitment issues made of urethane really cheap. I would have went with something aftermarket but i don't mind the front that much, especially with the cobra RR hood im putting on.

I emailed the guy about a new rear bumper cover.. Im going to use what looks like a stock one with no lettering. I am thinking of going with no emblems on the car at all.. If i do put some on its going to be like 5.4 or 331 on the sides and maybe that billit grille I also plan on getting my 03's powered coated black this winter... (had thought about black rims for the longest time then someone on here posted pics and made up my mind)

I would like to hear some feed back on this? I haven't ordered the rear bumper yet but probably will tomorrow.

BTW: Nobody has heard anything bad about aemporium.com have they?

I really like the no-emblems idea. Persoanaly, I wouldn't even bother with the 331 or 5.4 ones either. I think black with no emblems would look nice as hell. Shiny 3D badging on a black car is just wrong! :D

What color are you painting it?

No emblems is kind of a street rod/custom thing, but it's cool if you go the extra mile and shave the door handles, french the antenna and smooth out everything you can.

Good luck with the bumpers. I am sticking with OEM, because they fit. Any replacement has a possibility of requiring work to make it look right. Try to find some one with the parts you are looking at and ask how much body work was involved.

Im painting it Black... Everything is going to be black!!! The front bumper is what they consider aftermarket oem... Sounds like an oxy moron to me.

I see them advertised on ebay all the time so i am just going to get ahold of one of the buyers that they have sold too awhile back.

Black is nice, but even a small ammount of dust or dirt will make it look dirty. You should get one of those car dusters. If the car does not get too dirty, they do a great job of removing that thin layer of grime that makes it look bad.

I think Aftermarket OEM means not ford, but looks like an OEM ford part. A genuine part would be either Ford OEM, or NOS, new old stock.
