Hey, I've been posting on this site a couple times. I have been looking for a mustang for a while now, and now I've found one.

Today I bought a 1994 GT with a 5 speed with black cloth interior.

I paid 2500 cash, out the door.

The Odometer is reading over 200,000, but I have a feeling the engine was rebuilt because of how smooth it is.

Its a nice metallic red, and then in some spots where the paint has faded its almost like a champagne color. I do body work for a technical school that I can bring my own projects in, so its not really a problem.

I'll be posting here a lot more often, once I get some money to start modding and get more used to the car.

So far things I'm looking at doing to the car are

new headlights [typical ford fogging of the headlights, not sure what I'm going to replace them with, OEM, or something different.]

some chrome tips [not like direct on the tip of the exhaust, but some like 6 inches or so bolt on tips I think the ones that bolt on the end are cheap looking and look worse then no tips.] I like how the exhaust sounds, not sure if its factory or not, its got a nice rumble. Not too loud and obnoxious, but not too quiet.

wheels - the biggest area that i'm not sure about. I love the look of deep dish bullets in the back, and 9 inchers in the front. the black with polished lip. I'm not sure how they would look on my car though. Whats the biggest back tire I can get on this without rubbing? I want something wide and mean looking from the back.

I would like to do some engine modifications, but for now i'm just changing belts, hoses, and some wires, Maybe valve covers. I want to get used to the car a little better before I think about changing anything to give me more power. I wanna wait until I get to the point that i'm looking for more power.

Although, the mods I have thought of for the engine, some heads, not sure what I want to put in, but I remember reading about a pair of trickflow heads back when I was looking at some parts to build up a 5.0.

an Intake. Another Trick flow product I remember reading about. I have to dig up my old Mustangs and Fast Fords mags. Better yet, go pick up a new one hah.

and cams. Not sure yet what I want.

also was considering some gears, not sure about those either.

I am driving the car everyday to work and school and such. Just looking for a little bit of power, for the occasional trip down to the drag strip.

and last for this post, I'm thinking of what color I should paint the car. I kinda like the idea of the red thats on the hood and etc. Its not like most reds I see where in the light it turns orangish.

I also like the sunset metallic orange. I saw one sn95 body style vert with that color. looked awesome.

Congratulations .

Your description about color would indicate that it's laser red .

Before you start throwing parts on I would suggest that you think through to an end point (what you want when all is said and done) .

That way the parts you add today won't have to be discarded later .

Ill answer the wheels and gears questions.

I have 17x10.5 DD Cobra R's with 315/35R17 Nittos on them (Used to have Sumitomos in same size, but they were a little wider) and I have a 1/4 in spacer. No rubbing what so ever. I did have to beat the inner fender a little with the Sumis though.

And for gears, go with 3.73's. I went with them and love them. The norm is 3.73 for 5-speeds, and 4.10 for autos.

And laser red looks ****ing awesome in the sun when the paint is good. Id consider painting it that color.

honestly, I don't know an end point. didn't know there could be one haha.

not really looking for a set like preference of how fast I want it. I don't need a 10 second car haha. Just something with enough balls to make some local ricers cry. Although I can probably do that in stock form. [it may have some performance parts on it now, think its got stock throttle body intake headers and maybe exhaust too though.] I won't know, I should be getting the title in the mail within a couple days, and right away getting it registered and insured. Until then, only a couple trips around the block or so as a little tease.

I was actually looking at your car the green gt as to give me an idea how a wide back tire looks on this car since a majority of wide assed mustangs are the more modern 99-04 style that i see.

hm. if it is laser red, that might be the color I want to make the whole car. I've liked the pictures i've seen. and this is a really rich looking red.

Does laser red have metal flake in it? cause this definitely does. I can't really tell in the pictures I've seen of laser red cars.

These are the sumitomos.

This is the only good pic I have of the Nittos. But they are a little narrower. But hok 10 times better.

damn, those sumitomos are HUGE. haha.

I don't know if i want to go that big. The nittos may even be a little bit bigger then i'm looking.

Maybe i'll go with 305s in the back? or 295.

got another question that I didn't think of till now.

I tried the A/C on the car quickly, and you could hear it, but it seemed no air came out. Hot or Cold.

I didn't try the heat, but I'm wondering what could be wrong with it. I tried the vents, to see if they were closed, but no matter what way i slid the thing, It felt like no difference.

Its not too big of a deal, cause i mainly drive with my windows open, but it'd be nice to know whats up with it. Maybe just need to be charged?

Nitto 315's run pretty narrow compared to other 315's, I run them as well. As for your A/C problem, there's a vacuum line that runs behind the intake manifold that sometimes comes undone. Look behind there and see if you see any loose vacuum lines and that should fix your problem. I put a longer length on mine and it's been great.

Do not fear the 315's.

You will not regret it.

Congrats man! You'll find that Laser Red paint is EXTREMELY expensive to buy even if you plan on doing all the body work yourself. My car was laser red, and when I repainted it, I got Redfire instead. Its almost identical, and because of that you won't have to paint the door/trunk jambs and under the hood. Heres a pic for reference:

Matt's car - Laser red

My car - Redfire Metallic

As for tires, I switch between 315 Sumitomo's and 315 Nitto DR's for race season, and the only modification I had to make was beat in the inner fender a tad. Other than that, even with the car being lowered 2", they fit like a charm

well guys, driving out to eat today, I saw bullitts on the side of the road. I saw a for sale sign right next to them. I stop by, and they are 2006 mustang rims with brand new parelli [sp?] tires for 500 bucks. I brought one home, since it was right near my house, tried it on, fit, bought them. went out to eat, and just got done putting them on.

I took pictures before we went out to eat, with the stock tires, and now i have pictures of those on there. I'm uploading them now to my computer.

Is there any preference here on which upload site i use? I'm normally using photobucket, but if photobucket is slow here or doesn't work for some people I can use another.

alright couple questions now that i'm thinking.

how do i turn on the fog lights/driving lights in my car. I've pressed just about every button that looked like a light on the car. They may not work.

and I messed with the air conditioning a little bit today. It blows out the defroster vents, and the vents on top of the dash, near the doors. not sure about in back.

I'm trying to get it to blow thru the air vents. what would be causing it to not blow through them? I've messed with the slider, and seems to do nothing. The air is blowing out cold where it is blowing out.

alright now some opinion stuff.

louvers, or dark tint?

and as for headlights, one thing I cant stand is foggy headlights.

I am picking up a haynes manual tommorow most likely, so i can start reading about some of these things.

First and third headlights you posted are crap. Atleast the corners are.

I have the smoked ones (4th) and they are great. They are alot darker than in that pic though.
