Since you young guys are good with the new tech stuff...got a question.

Just got Sprint's New Sanyo 7400 Model phone with speaker, video, camera, multimedia, free TV for 2 mos, and some other stuff.. Im looking for some ring tones that are just Bells, rings, etc, like "old fashion" phone sounds...ALL I seem to find are songs and music clips on the Sprint site.. SPrint tech said that they really dont have any of the "classic" tones.. Does anyone know where I can find some ring tones, the are just regular type phone rings/bells, etc?

Thanks
RC

Damn Rob. I didn't need the x2 actual size picture. About the phone I would figure that sprint just has them stored. But I know you can still download from some ring websites the old chimes and such.

RC, slick phone. Any small midi file (*.mid) should work as a ringtone. I could probably track one down for you and email it to you if you wanted, then you could go through the Sprint site and put it on your phone. BTW, Sanyo's are supposed to have the best signal strength in the flip phone category.

When you get sick of paying for the web option and a buck or more for ringtones, make sure it's compatible and buy a USB data cable off Ebay and download a copy of BitPim and do all of your transfers to your computer for pictures, video, and ringtones for free.

BTW....does anyone know if there are ways to get your pics and vids to your computer if you dont subscribe to the Email picture service?

i bought the little cable for my motorola phone that connects it right to the computer and i can transfer ringtones/movies/pictures that way. i dont know anything about your specific phone but maybe they make something like that for it also.

does that phone have bluetooth? if it does and your computer has it too you can connect it that way (with correct software)

www.howardforums.com <- lots of good cellphone info there for ya

I dont know what blue tooth is.

Thanks for the info Illwood!
Thanks for the link Urban!

You still need to buy the ringtones to transfer them anyway right?

Also, I guess if you get the cable and DONT pay for the service, you cant take a pic and Email to your friend/relative, you have to transfer it to the computer, THEN Email it?

RC, the cable looks like it will work fine, but I'm not sure if they phone will work with the BitPim software. Phones don't use USB mass storage that I know of (which would be sweet) so in order to use BitPim, you would probably have to first tell the software that it is a Sanyo PM-8100 (works fine for my PM-8200) and then you could download and upload pictures and ringers. Worst case scenario, you would have to deal with the files by the internal file structure of the phone.

There is probably other software out there that will work and it will probably be easier, but it is not free.

But yeah, once you have the cable and software running you can download and upload things to and from your computer without having to pay Spring their $15 PCS vision fee.
