Maybe I won't be buying a Mustang after all... We'll see if it actually comes out and is priced right.

I think the earliest possible release date I've seen on it is 2010, which means by then alot of 05 owners will be back looking for new cars, or will be very shortly.

I heard 2008 or 2009 but will only believe it when I see it. If they have something ready to show now that's a good sign. DC has gotten some other show cars to production pretty quick.

Looks great but it's only a concept. The production version I am sure will not be exactly the same. Also, you won't see that car until 2010 at the earliest from wht I have heard. Here is more info:

Wow. There must be some nostalgia factoring into everyone loving this car, cause I think it's fugly. I won't dispute the power; 6.1 sounds hot. But...wow... I can't find anything about this that I like. They did a good job of making look just like the old one tho... Let me know when you're ready to trady in your stang, I could always use another!

I'm getting one. If I have to work double shifts until 09.
I am getting one of these things. Please GM. Do not release a good looking Camaro. I would like to be able to afford to own a house one day.

Looks very nice... Time will tell what it actually looks like and performs like when/if it releases... Looking forward to it though...

There's no nostalgia in it for me, I'm only 21 and I've always loved the way the Challenger looks. There's just something about that classic muscle car shape, the long hood, short trunk, and bold lines that I love.

The car will be realeased to the public in 2009 on the updated LX platform. At the same time the new 300, Charger, & Magnums will also be released. It will be in production, it will have a manual transmission and it will have the HEMI engine!

Yeah! That's what I'm thinking too. It mentioned having a pistol grip shifter!!!! I'm geeking out. That new Challenger would look awesome next to my old Plymouth. I need a bigger garage.

My understanding is that the 2009 Chevelle and Camaro are still on track, on the MODIFIED Zeta platform (that was canned in the earlier incarnation). I kinda doubt they'll survive though, given the GM financials and likelyhood of stiff fuel costs...

Being my usual contrarian self, a new Challenger would be a sales flop, just like the original Challenger was. Didn't it only last 2 or 3 years? I doubt if they'd sell even 30,000 of them a year, which would make it very difficult to turn a profit on it.

this is terrible... why do they have to bait us with a concept that may or may not see production until 3 years from now.. ugh... they do this all the time. Like the Charger concept from 1999, I believe, and IMHO the one they did produce looks nothing like a Charger, but what it does look like isn't appealing to me =\

By 2010, I'd suspect that the Mustang powerplants will have gain at least another 20-30hp+

The concept looks like a cartoon come to life, but I like it.

very true, but think of the current GM cars, they have GIGANTIC engines, but just like the Srt-8 and other models, they weigh too much. i see this has a shorter wheelbase which hopefully drops a good couple hundred pounds off DC's current models. you put those cars on a diet, and you would be making some serious numbers. i like the looks of it. and i would love to see this beast weighing in at 3400lbs which i think could be done and would make it an insaine vehicle. ill reserve most of my opinions untill we see some actual numbers on the car.
