I put a new clutch cable (stock replacement from Auto Zone) on my 93 LX 5.0 and now the clutch pedal is alot stiffer then it was before. I checked the the cable before and after I put it in and it moved freely. Please help!

never never never use anything but a FORD clutch cable. I had a vatozone one break on me in 1 day...

If I were you, I would order a real cable today, as the autozone one will not last long.

I had the same problem with and aftermarket one I bought. It ended up colapsing the casing till it didn't work anymore. It might be bound up somewhere. I ended up putting in another one.

My friend snapped the clutch cable on his '86 a while back and didn't get around to fixing it because he was buried in work at his construction job; he never got around to the FORD DEALERSHIP, so he wound up going to AUTO ZONE 2 minutes away from his house and bought a clutch cable there, it is CHEAP and he can't stand it. He said they have such POOR quality in the clutch cable, that he should have just waited to go to FORD, which would probaly have been the BEST place to get the clutch cable.

I seized up two clutch cables form kragen. Finally I went ahead and install a steeda clutch quadrant and adj cable. haven't had problem. I recommend you go aftermarket before you waste anymore money.
