*** Honda Discretion:: Honda haters, keep your comments to yourself, I've still got my Mustang, its not going anywhere, this isnt getting pimped out, its preserving the miles and wear and tear on the Mustang as well as many other purposes. ***

So my girlfriend decided she wanted to buy a car, and we needed something for all year round that was both reasonably attractive, good in Canadian winters, and great on gas. A co-worker of ours was selling the vehicle below. Its a 1990 Honda Accord EX-R, its got leather, A/C, Sunroof, power everything, Automatic, and its only got about 85,000 Miles (13XXXX KM). Tonnes of new stuff, really good shape and a pleasure to drive. Figured I would share :

PS: In case your wondering, it wasnt that shiny when we bought it, I took those pictures about 10 minutes ago, and waxed it for the preceding two hours. lol

I put a brand new long block and everything else in it. So mines like brand new. But it still looks like a pos on the outside. Cant complain about the 40 mpg i get either. What makes my car really cool though is my Orange county choppers seat covers.

My wife has a ford escort wagon and it's still like new. At least it's still a ford. Good for hauling around my pup and soon my kid.

Oh and it's a five speed. Too bad that honda isn't, otherwise it's very clean.

my 3.0 4x4 ranger goes for miles.. 3.0s are one of the most reliable motors built to be honest. Not a fan of honda.. if i had my choice, i'd have to go with yotas or acuras.. either way thats kinda high price around here, but if its a deal its a deal.. still not a fan of hondas, fart cans and what not.. bahhh humbug

Seriously, if you EVER need help with the DOHC saturn problems.. send me a PM. I have become very good in this area. I've learned so much about them because the crap is always breaking... not because I wanted to.

Really, I kinda like the car. The parts are cheap, gets good mpg, and is pretty peppy due to the 5-speed.. but

I've owned it for 6 months and have had to:

- Replace Waterpump
- Replace valve cover gasket (oil was leaking onto the spark plugs)
- Replace motor mounts (started vibrating like a cammed BB camaro)
- Replace rear rotors (they have a warping problem ur 96 prolly has drums though)

LOL I just got done doing motor mounts and brakes (the car took like 3 people on the brake pedal to stop, and the motor mounts were so fcked that the headlights shook at idle). Im telling you saturn = POS

have u done a water pump yet???

Cuz if not.. you will very soon.

I found pieces of the water pump bearings embedded in the plastic inner fender well when I went to replace it.. talk about catastrpohic failure.

i hope not The sad thing is that the car has only 90k miles on it, my first car ( a 97 nissan altima) had 160k and i drove it like the gas pedal was an on/off switch and i never heard a peep from it and still got like 30mpg.
