Car has 200k miles! She runs like a champ. Just replaced timing belt and water pump. How are the motors and transmission on these cars?? ? Are they pretty stout???

I am thinking about doing a couple mods. I would like to lower the car but, it might not be practical during winter time. I also am thinking about painting the wheels black.

That car looks new. I've got an '05 ZX4 with 15K on it and it's trashed compared to yours. I don't have the energy to keep 2 cars clean. The Mach is spotless, and the Focus has'nt been cleaned since I bought it new.

V8 powered focus for the win lol. They are pretty light so they will have a nice power to weight ratio. They wight around 2400lb i believe. I am guessing you can get them down to around 2200 with some weight reduction.

I had a friend back in the mid-80's that had a 396 Vega. He had to cut a hole in the hood for the air cleaner. It did nothing but fishtail.

Had an '03 ZX3, from my experience with those motors, you'll be changing the water pump every 1 to 2 yrs. Other than that they're ok, nothing to write home about. Also have a 2000 Escort ZX2, pretty much same motor, same issues. But get 35+ mpg, so regular oil changes and a $50 new water pump every 1-2 yrs isn't too bad. Transmissions, eh...they are what they are.
