No tips really. Just take your time and weld as much as you can over bondo. For the big holes on the sides i used a peice of sheet metal and cut it out then welded it then bondo. OR you can go the easy route and check out dugan racing good luck man just have paitiance! peace

Keep in mind by the time you get your stock crank turned and buy aftermarket rods (it’s cheaper than “fixing” your old rods) to go along with your new pistons it costs about the same as a decent entry level stroker kit.

No reason to go 331 unless you are limited by class racing rules or airflow (but you said afr heads so I don’t think that is the case.

And depending on what you are looking to do a 351 really is a pretty good idea, and doesn’t cost as much as people think.

Depends on how much ya want out of the 302 or a 351? My 408 was gonna be right around 8g. But it would be able to handle whatever i threw at it. If it were me and it almost was, if i'm gonna build a stroker motor it would has the best of everything and would be a 408 or bigger. peace

Hey Joey if i were you id weld instead of bondo. Im going to be talking to my friends stepdad when i get back from South Africa who restores mopars and is pretty good with welding as i want to smooth and paint my bay this winter along with removing a/c and whatnot. Bondo like someone earlier said will eventually rattle out.

I don't have the time or the money to be able to yank my engine and hide the wires. My fox is a daily driver. It can't sit in my garage for a month because I don't want to have to walk to work!!

Your going to be better off just buying a complete stroker kit. The budget kits don't really cost that much more. By the time you have some one build you a 306 your could have had a 331 with all new parts. I would also stay away from DSS motors. I've talked more than a few people that had there DSS motors go south in a very short time.

The only way to really fill the holes in your fire wall is to weld them up.

Thanks for your advice. I think at this point i am just gonna Re-ring and bearing the stock block, and also do some ARP hardware, with a main girlde for the hell of it. Probably bore it over as well, and throw some nice pistons in for boost.
