New Exhaust then Header Later

I've got a pretty bad exhaust leak coming into the car. 1970 Fastback/302. Really kind of dangerous that I need to take care of ASAP. Plan on putting Magnaflow exhaust system on. I was going to put Hooker Comps on at the same time this winter when I got more cash but becuase leak is getting worst - I really should not wait. If I do the exhaust first and then fit headers later am I asking for trouble. Not really too knowledgeable in exhaust systems. Appreciate any feedback. thanks

Where is the leak at? You can always use a cut up coffee can and some baling wire....

If you've got the "scratch," then you may as well do it all at once. I'm not quite to the point of redoing my exhaust, but will be hitting it in one wack. Just makes more sense doing it this way, but I could be wrong, as I'm not a qualified mechanical evil genius.
