Thanks Anthony05GT and Fallen
.....that's pretty much what I was thinking....old ford blue ....but when you look at those new GT 500 covers w/the chrome "ford racing" ....it seems brighter...more of "baby" blue....I'll just go with the pre 70's ford blue....it comes in high temp....and it's looks pretty cool in that picture (my 07 is black as well) !!!!!!!...HEY Anthony..DO YOU HAVE those special ford tools... the valve compressor and wedge????....I had asked you before about this ...if I could possibly buy them or really I only need them for a week or two ....rent them ??and send them back....I bought the "mutha-thumpr stage II's".....really thinking of putting them in myself....and of course spray the covers as well....let me know...thanks
Frank

Yeah, I'm waiting for a guy to return them from another forum. He's been dragging his a$$ on getting them back to me, but I can hook you up.

The Ford blue on the newest valve covers is a little brighter like you said, but old Ford blue is just as cool and very brite.

On the valve covers what I did was spend about 45 minutes to an hour first washing/drying then scuffing them down with a green scotch brite pad. Just take your time and really go over them with the pad. After that, wash them again and plug up all of the holes and threaded areas. Put the valve cover in the oven and get it hot enough to where you can barely pick it up before each coat of paint. That really makes it flow well and dry fast. One can will allow up to like 4 coats which is plenty. Always spray all the tight places first, then the main areas of the covers especially on the last coat.

Mine have been painted for well over a year and it's holding up great.
