I replaced my fuel pump with a holley 190, the tank and the filter 6 months ago. since then I have been restoring the 89 5.0 lx. so it has only been driven about 10 miles. I finally have the car done and an I put in 5 gallons of fresh fuel(guage reads 1/2 tank)and went for a ride to the autoparts store and back home. After about 10 minutes of driving the fuel pump starts screaming/whining real loud. I shut the car off for a few seconds and we are good for another 10 minutes. does not happen if car idles in the yard, just after driving. I cant believe i need another fuel pump so soon. any ideas? Could it be fuel regulator? I do need a fuel filler neck seal since i did not replace it when I did the tank. It drips a bit if the tank is full.

Bite the bullet and replace it my friend. Get the new pump, run your tank down, and do the deal.

Oh... and if you ever plan on running boost or nitrous, save yourself the next change and run a 255L.

The Walbro 190s internally bypass at just over 60 psi. Why? I dunno.
