new gear use old shims?

putting a 410 in my 04 gt (low miles) would any of you use the old shims or spacers?

No. Go ahead and change them, this can compared to using the same oil filter after oil change, some companies say that it is ok, some don't, but for peace of mind, change it.. Besides how often are you taking apart your rear end.

very true...besides im sure the kit came with them has a stack of rings in it

I would agree and say no. Get new ones.

Do not change them unless you have to in order to get correct backlash and/or contact patch. They are just spacers, they don't wear to speak of. Clean them good with brake cleaner and relube...

P.S. if you use FRPP gears the stock spacers should get ur backlash almost perfect. Don't mix the diff spacers up, mark each side!!!

i've been told the same by a master ford tech. if you use FRPP gears the old shims should still work just fine
