So i was at a local car meet this evening and i saw a 2002 Camaro ZR-1. Damn! I dont like anything related to garbage motors, but i did give that car some respect. 427 cubic inches, 600hp, 575lbtq, and 12.1 compression and rated at 19mpg in the city! Than when he started it up, it trully did sound disqusting. Anyway it got my head turning about a N/A 418 or 427 stroked windsor build up for my 94. I was originally planning a 347 kenne bell setup but this might be just as wicked and possibly fewer hassles besides the engine swap. Anyway would it be possible to get similar #'s out of a 418/427 windsor? and would 11.5.1 or 12.1 compression be reasonable with a windsor with of course all supporting hardware and still be pump gas friendly, he said even with 12.1 it runs just fine on premium. i saw a zr-1 in person a few weeks ago and was like, um when did chevy make and overhead cam V8. the owner had to tell me the motor was built by callaway.

hmm i wonder if we are thinking of the same ride. This was a ls-1 based pushrod motor, i guess it was very similar to the motor found in the c5-r race corvette. However i do know of a corvette that was built on the 4th gen corvette that was a dual overhead cam motor.

Are you guys referring to the ZL-1 (not said ZR-1)? If so ... I thought they were pushrod (LS6).

They're actually dubbed the ZL-1 Super Car. Only 69 of them were produced. So if this guy has one .... he REALLY has something.

Ah yes ZL-1 thats right, i remebered all the numbers just not the name. Anyway ya he had a whole book on it, the car was absoluletly one of the coolest things i had ever seen. He still had the original sticker on it, The engine was said to be an extra 25k alone!!!!!!!!!
