I want to put the '04 bullitt mustang rims on my '66 mustang, but i'm not sure what the backspacing is on the new rims. I know i can make up the difference with a spacer, but i want to make sure this is a feasible swap...i read somewhere that someone used 17x8 with a 4 3/4 backspace on a 66 and it works out nicely. i guess my question is, how close would i be to gettting there with the new rims...help!

Do this, and I would appreciate some pics... I'm considering the exact same setup myself, but I'm just not sure those wheels would look good on my car... I'd like to see them actually on the vehicle. I'll refer you to a thread I posted about exactly this topic: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=504401 Lots of good info there.

I think the bullet rims for the actually go on the sn95 chassis mustangs are 5.25" back spacing so you need something like .75" spacer. You could probably call some of the mustang parts places like mustang plus and they might know for sure.

there are companies making bullit replicas for the older stangs. Look around the net and I think you will find them with the proper back spacing.

That said I went with Vintage 45's, same sort of look, a little more expensive but to me meatier. Love them.
