Just joined the forum last night. Just got a barn find 1969 Mustang Coupe that has been stored for over 30 years. Most of the parts are there, but disassembled. This will be my fourth 69 Mustang. The first was a plain Jane white 302 coupe. The second was a red fastback with a 351 Windsor and FMX trans. The third I should be shot for ever parting with it. It was a hardtop coupe GT with a 351 Windsor and a three speed manual.
This barn find was originally a Candy Apple Red with a 200CID automatic, it will become a 351 Windsor with a FMX trans. My biggest issue to start the build is the rear end. I need to swap it out, I was thinking of converting it to a Ford Exploder 8.8 rear end as that will also give me the disk brakes on the rear.
I am sure I will be reaching out to the forums for assistance on this long journey. At least with retired life I will have time.

Where I live, I hardly ever see a 1969 Mustang Coupe. It seems they are all Mach 1's or Sportsroof, etc. I like seeing '69 Coupes. Shortly after I got out of the Service and was living back in my hometown my friend and I drove by a '69 coupe for sale. Neither of us were in the market for another Mustang at the time, but the seller let us take it for a short drive. It was a (very faded) Springtime Yellow*, and had a 250 straight-six with three-speed manual. Both of us came to the conclusion that that '69 Mustang coupe would make a really great fun daily driver Mustang.

*I'm not certain is Springtime Yellow was still available in 1969?, but I think it was close to that originally.
