A performance shop installed my 3.73 gears about 8 months ago. I have a 99GT with 113,339 miles on it. It's a manual.
I'm pretty sure the other day i snaped a tooth off one of the gears because there is excessive play in the driveshaft and shakes when i take off (after the car gets warmed up). The shop told me i should rebuild the rear end soon and I was wondering if someone could tell me what i need to do that. There are a few mods (nothing big) but i may entertain the idea of adding a SC or Nitrous in the future (at least a year). Assuming I buy new 3.73 Rear end gears what else would i need. Because i am not an expert on this subject i dont want some pro shop to take me for a bunch of money. I will more than likely buy the parts i need online and take it to the shop and let them do the labor. From reading other posts it may look like i need:
Ford 31 Spline Traction-Lok
Moser 31 Spline Axles
TA Performance Girdle
I am looking to rebuild as solid as possible now (damn near bullet proof) so I wont have to mess with it again. Is there anything else i may need or would help me rebuild the rear end on my car.. such as a name brand rear end rebuild kit? Also would i have to rebuild the posi trak on my car as well?

P.S. what is the difference in 31 Spline and 28 Spline?
