New guy with a transmission Q!

Wazzup, i am new to the mustang, i am a reformed import guy. I just picked up a 2001 GT 5-speed minereal grey. 42000 miles with abs, traction control. Got it for 14500. anyway i have a question about the tranny, i was under the impression that 01's came with two different 5 speeds depending on when it was made. How can i tell which tranny is in my car? Thank's

I could be wrong but I think the only difference in the 01 cars is the water pump. I think it changed mid way through the model year. I think it was the 02's that got the new T3650 trans. which by the way sucks!

Look under the car.. You know you have a 2001.5 if you have the Red Tremec sticker under car, which means you have the Tremec TR-3650 Transmission.

The tranny did change in mid '01 didnt it I know the water pump did, but Im pretty sure the tranny did as well.

for what i know like you said the tranny change in mid 2001 modele
i dont know if they are all alike but the 2001 i tried the clutch felt like a civic and my 2002 is really hard like it should be...probably not the same trans.

The clutch is alot harder than my previous car, but i will get under the car and check the car was manufactured in october

my car was born 09/16/00. I have T-45. I was told by Ford that They switched over to Tremec in mid Feb of 01.

tell ya what. If your car grind in to reverse, then you have T-45!!!
