whats up guy? i am new to the mustang world but not new to cars... i have been trying to search my answer but no luck yet.. i just got a 90 fox body with the 2.3 5 speed. and here are some things i was wanting to know.

1) i am wanting to open the exhaust up a little bit what should i go with? ( i seen something about long tube header whats a website i could look at that )

2) i was wanting to try and find a short shifter for it.. is there a web site to look at it and see about how much im going to have to spend?

3) i am also wanting it to handle a little bit better what could i do???

well i think that it for now. oh and the 2.3 will be comeing out in the summer time...:nice:

well thanks for your time
Ricky

if you are serious about removing the 2.3 then putting any more parts on it would be a waste. save your money for whatever swap you have in mind as 4cyl qnd 8cyl parts really arent compatible.

1) Check out www.stinger-performance.com he can hook you up with nearly all you would need. While there check out the black coupe :nice:

2)I use a Pro 5.0 Shifter on the black coupe that you'll see on stinger's page. That is in every car I own and thats all I'll ever go with.

3)The after market world is yours to choose from but remember alot of the lowering springs don't lower a 2.3 as much.

I run a long tube header made by Pacesetter (www.racerwalsh.com) with a full custom exhaust setup.

Suspension - most around here say to start with anti-sway bars off of a GT as they're the most cost effective. Lowering springs are offered by Eibach and Ford Racing Performance Parts.

Your best bet for performance would be a turbo swap. Search these boards and www.turboford.org and you'll find a multitude of information.

thanks for the info guys.. i think im going to keep the stang just for a daily driver since i all ready one another project wich is a s10 please dont hat me b/c i have a chevy and a ford... but the way i see it is if it runs and drive take it...lol

Hey there. Welcome to the world of 2.3l mustangs.

I recently bought a MGW short throw shifter, but haven't installed it yet. All the reviews I've seen make it sound like it works very well. It is very well made. try a search for MGW shifters on a search engine. Most shifters go for $160-180.

I am ordering the racer walsh header.(Pace setter)$175d. If you don't have smog testing cut off the cats. Or replace the exhaust with a new pipe and better flowing muffler. I'm going with a 2.25" exhaust, but 2" may be better for you.

What do you guys think? 2" or 2.25" for his mild 2.3l na?

UPR Has Eibach made PRO-Kit springs for v6/4cilinder mustangs for 150. lowers the car 1.5" and are more stiff. They are PRO_KIT SRINGS with a UPR lable added to them and are $70-80 less than many other online stores...I don't know how shipping prices compare though.

Problem with modifying the ride height is that you may want to get caster camber plates to correct allignment and a bump steer kit too. But that's all optional
They also have steel Caster plates for $120

GT swaybars from a salvage yard are a cheap way to go, You'll need the correct sway bar bushings. Aftermarket swaybars are great if you pony up.

My problem is that I get a part and then I want or need another part to get the most out of it and it continues to snow ball. $$$

IMO
So the best way to go for cheap is to hit the salvage yards and get GT sway bars-$40-80(I'm not sure if they are the same as 5.0l LX bars). UPR Springs(150+ shipping) (if you want a little lowering). Maybe a mid 90's header from a 2.3l ranger($30-60) though the long tube is probably better. Cut the cats. Cheap but better flowing muffler. Build a cold air induction setup. There may be some plans on this site for the inducition. I know there are guys that have done it.

Well, good luck and have fun.

Ohh, don't worry about the s-10, in the 2.3l forum we are "breaking the mold" of the 5.0l craze anyways. So whatever floats your boat.:nice:
